Zulfi Ali is a Partner and serves as Zetland’s Chief Risk Officer. He joined the Firm in 2023 and is a member of the Investment Committee. Zulfi has over 30 years of experience as a lender, investor and fund manager. He is responsible for all aspects of Risk Management and Operations across the Firm and the Funds. Prior to joining Zetland, Zulfi was Co-Head of Private Equity at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, where he led AIIB’s investments in funds across China, South and Central Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. He was previously a Senior Principal and Investment Committee member for the IFC Global Infrastructure Fund. Zulfi started his career at Citibank NA where he spent 12 years in Project Finance, Business Risk Review and as Risk Manager/Senior Credit Officer for Structured Products. Zulfi holds an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics & Political Science, and a BA in Economics from Vassar College.
